Brit model Charlotte Wiggins on where to eat in New York
Never Underdressed's Beauty Director Joanna McGarry grabs 3 minutes with top London model Charlotte Wiggins backstage.
How does New York fashion week compare to London?
'London fashion week’s really mad and manic and I don’t ever have time to do castings so I’ll probably get off the plane and go straight into a fitting. New York’s more chilled and dare I say it, more organised.'
What do you like to do for down time in New York?
'Go out and eat with friends – cause in the day you just grab something so it’s nice to go out in the evening if you’ve got time. In the beginning, I could never do it because you’re so tired you literally don’t want to even get dressed to go out.'
Favourite restaurant in New York?
'For a quick lunch there’s Hu Kitchen, it’s really healthy and stuff and I went to a really nice one the other day – I’m staying in the financial district – called Harry’s café, it does really good steak, it’s proper food. So good.'
Why the financial district?
'I’ve got friends there so I said, ‘can I come and stay please?’ It’s much better than staying in a hotel.'
Are you here with your London model crew?
'Yeah! Sam Rollinson’s here. I live with Sam in London. And Eve Delf, we’re all staying together here. Malaika’s here… We’ve got to stick together, there’s not many of us! We’re a rare breed.'
