Denim queen Chloe Lonsdale on her totally unplanned wedding hair

Denim queen and founder of MIH Jeans Chloe Lonsdale went for a spontaneous 20s look on her wedding day

‘This was 3 years ago at my wedding. I have the privilege of working with some really fantastic people so I had asked one of our campaign hairdressers to do it – Angelo Seminara. He’s now the Creative Director of the Italian hair brand, Davines. I said I had absolutely no idea what I wanted but I trusted him to do something amazing. I didn’t have any trials at all; Angelo just turned up on the day and worked his magic. Normally my hair is straight and simple so he came up with this very 1920s curl look which I loved. It was super fun and nice to try something completely different.

Angelo didn’t use much product at all, he just wound my hair into very tight curls and let it sit for a while. It’s funny though because my mum had a similar hair ‘do when she married my dad; she had bleached her hair and had it all different and curly which gave my dad a shock! So we ended up with pretty identical hair for our weddings which was unintentional. My husband thought it was cool!

I am very low maintenance with my hair; I probably go to the hairdresser about three times a year. I am a mum of three young kids and have a business to run so don’t really have time – I just wash it with shampoo in the mornings and that’s it, I am lucky that it doesn’t require much.

I did dye my hair blue once when I was 15. Every teen in London did I think which you don’t really see now. But it was the thing to do back then and I went to Ken High Street to get it done and thought it was very cool! But since then, it’s been like it is today.’
