Fingers crossed, it’s going to snow quite soon. One would hope. Which, romantically speaking, means digging out that arctic, vintage fur coat, looking up a hearty Glühwein recipe and perfecting your Snow Queen look.

For the latter, we’ve got the catwalk to turn to for inspiration; the place has been rife with the white look this year. Minimalist white flecks, architecturally highlighted contours and androgynously pale faces were present everywhere, from Helmut Lang to Moschino and even over at Burberry, who’s frost-bitten beauty was a pinnacle look from the autumn 2013 shows.

In reality, this means illuminated cheekbones as if they’ve been sprinkled with miniscule snowflakes, big, bright eyes (hello white eyeliner) and ghostly pale eyeshadows that are more Florence Nightingale than Wednesday Addams. Perhaps even a set of chicly bleached brows, à la the models at Gucci’s autumn 2013 show. Perhaps. Then, for something quick and utterly on-trend, there’s always whiter than white nails that look like they belong on the slopes of Gstaaad, teamed with a Chanel skin suit, of course.
