The ultimate bleach blonde shade. That won't ruin hair one bit
Two Fridays ago, we brought you news of the rapidly growing number of models who are hitting the bottle. Bleach bottle, that is. There’s tonnes of them, all symmetrical faces and perfectly set eyes, set beneath masses of beautifully bleached blonde hair. Who can blame them? It’s hard to resist the lure of a Debbie Harry-like hair colour. From Julia Schurig’s steely tones to Irene Hiemstra’s Monroe-esque colour, you can hardly move for the stuff.
Come autumn/winter 2013, everyone will have a bleach job. Trust us. At Ashish it was ice blonde, at Just Cavalli, hot new model Soo Soo Park opened the show with a head of ashen, platinum hair. So, the question is: what's the ultimate new season blonde shade? L’Oréal Professionnel INOA Colour Specialist at Daniel Hersheson, Sibi Bolan says it’s all about the ‘nude blonde’.
"Up until now, going super blonde has been very difficult without damaging hair. INOA UltraBlond makes it easy to obtain a beautiful blonde colour while maintaining silky, healthy hair." - Sibi Bolan
‘It’s warm, glamorous and radiates an air of beauty through its pale, platinum colour.’ With nude blonde, it’s about finding a shade that gives model-worthy results without the terrifyingly damaging side-effects that traditional bleach methods usually bring. Hair colouring has moved on quite a bit form those deadly days of having straw for hair. ‘Up until now, going super blonde has been very difficult to create without damaging hair,’ Sibi explained, ‘but now with the shift in technology and L’Oreal Professionnel’s new power product, INOA UltraBlond, it’s easy to obtain a beautiful blonde colour all over while maintaining silky, healthy lengths.’
Phew. Because we thought it might be a case of sacrificing vaguely decent hair in order to have a blonde colour akin to Daphne Groeneveld’s. Sibi explains that the magic with INOA lies in it’s clever oil system which can lighten hair by up to five levels but still leave a polished, shiny and totally damage-free finish. But most interesting of all is Sibi’s word on hair oils. ‘Steer away from oils or heavy styling products that are yellowish in colour as these will stain your pale blonde and turn it brassy. Clear or white products are best or ones with silver or blue tones, as this counteracts against yellow.’
Not the first thing one would think of but essential if you’re hitting the bottle though highly plausible. Let’s ready ourselves for the onslaught of the nude blonde then.
