Naomi works a Marilyn blonde crop

by

Given the sightings of Naomi Watts in recent weeks, filming on the set of St. Vincent de Van Nuys, it's a delight to see her working this picture-perfect blonde crop. Because while her film character's pink dip dye and straggly blonde lengths might look cool, they just aren't her. She's not that sort of girl who will wake up on a random Tuesday morning and say, 'Hey, I'm going to dye my hair today and forego the blow dry too.' It isn't her bag.

Naomi is a groomed girl at heart. She looks best when she's been made-up and styled in an elegant and proper way. Like here, at the premiere of The Butler in New York last night. Her hair is that gorgeously creamy blonde that we associate with legends like Marilyn Monroe and Debbie Harry. Its rich silkiness reflects a pap's flashbulb better than anything else. That gentle flick, recoiling under those large gold hoop earrings, give bounce and body and also make her look a bit mummy-ish. But not in the bad sense - in the sense that she looks utterly warm and loyal, like a trusting mother who is beautiful through and through.

And that's precisely the point with Naomi; she's always the radiant one who plays it safe and knows what works. And this bouncy, blonde crop hits the nail on the head. More of this please, Naomi.
