25 years of DKNY with Rita, Karlie and Donna

Sunday's DKNY 25th anniversary show ticked off all the boxes in terms of asserting the label's street-cred and it popularity, but last night's party in honour of that anniversary made sure the message was felt far further than simply the fashion industry. It was attended by TV stars, style afficionados and lifelong fans of the brand.

Models Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls (who opened the spring 2014 show) em-cee'd the event, presenting a live set by Rita Ora, for which Donna Karan herself muscled to the front of the crowd to tweet and Instagram.

Ora performed wearing the hyper logo-ed spring collection, appearing first in a full length monogrammed trench, before peeling that off to reveal a branded sweatshirt and track pants, and eventually a bodysuit emblazoned with the famous lettering.

It was a suitably street celebration of the brand, which has its origins in New York pavement couture, with a DJ who alternated between referencing its heritage (by choosing songs in which DKNY features in lyrics - hat tip Biggie and, yes, Will Smith) and playing to the fashion crowd, with name-dropping hits such as Jay-Z's Tom Ford and N****z in Paris.

Happy 25th, DKNY!
