Get a load of Givenchy’s fancy new site

by

High fashion was tentative when it came to embracing the internet, but now it has, my, have the labels to gone to town on it. It’s like when Krispy Kreme launched in the UK, and you avoided them for ages, afraid of their bawdy Americaness, but then finally tried one and averaged a dozen a week.

Givenchy is the latest brand to get super-flashy (but not ‘Flashy’, it’s not 2009) online with the launch of its new website this week. Click on the landing page and you’re greeted with a visual feast of campaign (including the beautiful new Amanda Seyfried images for autumn 2013), celebrity, catwalk and red carpet imagery, laid out Pinterest style, so you can scroll, ooh and ahh at to your heart’s content.

But that is not all! Oh, no, that is not all. Click around the tabs at the top, and you’ll get, what creative director Ricardo Tisci describes as ‘very visual and instinctive access’ to essentially, everything you ever wanted to see from Givenchy. Under 'Maison' you’ll find images dating from 1952 to now, which you can further sub-divide by campaigns, art, red carpet, or by designs relating to the house’s founder, Hubert de Givenchy, or its current master Ricardo.

Laid out in a clean grid format, with a chic black and white design, it’s like the fanciest tumblr you ever did see, without any NSFW gifs sneaking up on you.

You can also do practical things like search contact details or find your nearest store, should you wish to go old school.

Go and have a mess around on it now, just don’t expect to get anything useful done for the rest of the morning.

Mmm, the internet.
