The news broke today that one of the industry's favourite young voices Alexander Fury, currently editor of Katie Grand's LOVE magazine, is to become fashion editor of The Independent.

Formerly fashion director of photographer Nick Knight's SHOWstudio, Fury has a Central Saint Martins pedigree and gained total cred for using phrases such as 'Mil-yawn' and 'there's a taste issue' when crafting his inimitable show reviews for that site, citing his encyclopaedic knowledge of both fashion history and guilty-pleasure low culture. (There's nothing wrong with that.)

He also owns a rabbit called Latrice.

'The seduction of writing for a newspaper for any journalist is the ability to report honestly, with your own voice and opinion,' Fury told the Business of Fashion blog. 'It’s something I value enormously.'
