The windows at the Louis Vuitton store on London’s Bond Street have had a Jurassic-style makeover and are now home to sparkling gold dinosaurs as well as the brand’s merchandise. 

The brand has used antique gold to create skeletons of some of the most recognisable dinosaurs, including a kindly stegosaurus and the total terror of prehistoric world, a tyrannosaurus rex. Amid the giant gold reptiles are bags from autumn/winter 2013 and clothing from the pre-fall collection.

It is almost 20 years to the day since Jurassic Park (it was released on 9 June 2024) but dinosaurs, it seems, are having a fashion moment once again. As well as the Louis Vuitton homage, they are mentioned in this month’s Vogue, with covergirl Helena Bonham Carter admitting that her husband, Tim Burton, recently surprised her by buying eight life-size dinosaurs, which currently reside in the garden of their country house in Oxfordshire.

It’s all about the Jurassic era this season, sweetie.
