The Queen’s best pastels and pearls
In June 1953, the 27-year-old Princess Elizabeth ascended to the throne and became Queen of England. Since then, she has hardly spent a day out of the limelight. Favouring pastel block colours (yellow in particular), pearl necklaces, white gloves, low heels and plaid, she has inspired stars (Agyness Deyn) and fashion designers (Dolce & Gabbana) to wear and design pieces in the vein of her distinctive personal style.
When it comes to her wardrobe, it is safe to say that HRH knows what she likes. With as many as three or four outfit changes per day, she has a strict view on what she will and won’t wear, and she rarely strays from it. Have a click through our most regal of look books here.
