Who’s your favourite Bond girl? You could be about to have a new one; along with the announcement that Sam Mendes will be bashing out another Bond film, following his take on the famous franchise with last year’s Skyfall, comes the news that Penelope Cruz will play the coveted role of Bond girl in the film.

With Cruz currently pregnant, tedious, ‘will she have purged her body of evidence of anything as distasteful as having a child’ nattering is already surrounding the actress, who is married to Bond villain Javier Bardem, but we think she’ll make a boss Bond girl – super-human abs or otherwise. 

She’s got elements of some of the best under her belt – exotic Euro-accent (Ursula Andress), smart wiley vibes that suggest she could take out the sleazy spy if she wanted to (Grace Jones, Tania Mallet), and if we’re going to get superficial about it, she’s got the kind of killer looks that every Bond girl has boasted – those feline eyes are a weapon in their own right.
