She said only last month that she understands why people might think she's grumpy, thanks to her perma-pout in pictures. But VB smashed any suspicion that she might be a fem-bot from the Planet Fabulous, by demonstrating extreme emotion on camera this weekend.

Watching David play his last ever professional game of football in Paris, following his announcement last week that he's retiring from the game, Victoria was clearly struggling to maintain her composure. 

Notorious for never smiling in pictures, her reasoning is that said social mask helps her maintain some semblance of privacy - and is a sign of her shy streak.

"I actually used to smile a lot in pictures," she has explained. "I think I only stopped smiling when I got into fashion. Fashion stole my smile! I've created this person. And I'm not saying that's not me, but I wouldn't say that's the whole me … It's an armour that goes up."

She also wept when David won the BBC Sports Personality lifetime achievement award. He's clearly her emotional Achilles heel. Which just makes us like her even more.
