I don’t know about you, but one of the most exciting things to do once you’ve checked into a hotel is dash into the bathroom to see what beauty delights await your beady eyes. They can be utter treasures or in some cases, a complete disappointment. So when we heard this week that Oscar de la Renta would be providing a beauty range for the Peninsula Hotel in New York, well, we wanted to book a flight immediately. Especially seeing as the products are all laced with his latest scent and come complete with rose-shaped caps that are a nod to his original fragrance, Oscar. What more could you ask for, really? This is one capsule collection to be excited about - it’s definitely worth booking into the Peninsula for the pure pleasure of being able to try them out (and clearly stuff a few in your bag to take home).

By the looks of things, hotels are starting to go all out on the beauty amenity front. The Tides Resort in sunny Mexico even has their own 'soap concierge' (yes, really), while The Ace Hotel chain in New York has pulled out all the stops by offering guests their very own signature nail polish. 

It's pretty handy knowing you don't have to travel with your cherished lotions and potions because your hotel will have it covered, especially when you're packing light for a weekend city break. And, I mean, when they get it right on the beauty front, they really get it right. Did you know, for example, that Cowshed actually started out as a hotel amenity range? Its sheer popularity pretty much forced it onto the shelves so guests could purchase it for themselves.
