What they're wearing backstage at the shows

by

Jostling between photographers, ice-cool (both figuratively and literally) models and the abundant catering tables backstage has it's joys. Not simply through bearing witness to the birthing pool of future beauty trends, nor to watch the guide book enacted of how we will want to wear our hair in er, six months, the backstage area of a catwalk show is also a fruitful stomping ground for the models (and make-up artists, hair stylists and beauty PR's) to exhibit their fashion credentials.

And at the spring/summer14 shows, they did not disappoint. Well, of course they didn't - this lot are the most perfectly placed to run wild through the fields of fashion, they wear key pieces before anyone else, they walk in them, they live them.

Stand-out pieces so far (there's still Paris to go) were the directional jackets - from the helms of Junya Watanabe and Philip Lim - and the idiosyncratic jewellery on display and one pretty spectacular yellow Versace clutch, while the Rodarte (Radarte) grey marl jumper count hit reached double figures.

All of which is sort of like having a huge gang of incredibly well-dressed, moronically beautifully friends turn up at your work and sit around looking fabulous. Which is simulataneously amazing and soul-destroying.
