The Selfie. It narrowly missed the deadline to enter the Oxford English Dictionary this year, but we don't need an Instagram-illiterate bunch of academics to confirm its importance in today's world. We look at our iPhones far more than we look at the dictionary anyway.

And so do celebrities, although they look at their iPhones not to see pictures of us, but to see their own celluloid reflection. Those beautiful images they then capture and filter and blast out to the world.
