With so many online make-up tutorials out there, it's rare that one specific video causes such a commotion. When you hear that the video in question involves make-up artist Lisa Eldridge and style icon Alexa Chung, it starts to make a bit more sense.

If you haven't already been acquainted with Lisa Eldrige's phenomenally popular videos, we suggest you take a look. (If it's step-by-step tutorials you're after, you may as well take them from someone who has worked with Kate Winslet, Keira Knightley and Cara Delevingne).

Lisa recently created a 60s make-up look on Alexa Chung and her Facebook fans were soon hot on her heels, begging for a tutorial which prompted her to enlist the help of the lady in question to show fans how it was done. Alexa impressively does her own eyeliner in the video, using the range she designed for Eyeko - and we have to say, the lady gives good liner.

“I really wanted Alexa to do the liner element herself as everyone’s seen me do it a million times and by watching Alexa’s application you can really understand the angles and technique so you know exactly how to apply it on yourself.” Eldridge commented.

If the close up of Alexa's impossibly beautiful face isn't too soul-destroying, it's fun to listen to her chat about why she loves 60s make-up, inspired by her beauty heroes Françoise Hardy and Jane Birkin. (We can definitely imagine Ms. Chung herself, breton-striped up to the max, skipping gaily down the Champs Elysees, wicker basket on one arm, the other around Serge Gainsbourg.) 

It's also good to know that even someone as poised as Alexa also occasionally gets a Giant Spot of Doom on her chin. ('Now I know what it must feel like to have boobs, as everyone just literally stares at it.') We would happily invite these two round for coffee and a makeover session on a Saturday morning.
