The many ways to hold a Prada bag

by

Only a fool would simply sling a bag over their shoulder and let it limply swing like whatever, and do you know why? Because Miuccia Prada says so.

When models held chain straps taut, so that the bag itself sat high on the shoulder, handbag-rucksack style at yesterday's autumn 2014 show, we were reminded that the styling at Prada shows, particularly when it comes to holding onto a purse, is nothing less than inventive.

There's many ways to hold a Prada bag, you see, so grab yours and hold it one of these ways...

The clutch pincer.
Think of your hand like a crab claw and snap it around the top of your clutch, a delicate alternative to a full palm hold.

A true pro can do the clutch pincer on even a large clutch, such as the wash-bag style ones for spring 2013. Just don't put anything heavy in it.

The tote roll
Are you still filling your totes with lipsticks and sandwiches? Pfft. Roll it up, pretend it's a clutch.

The glove clutch
A double whammy of practicality from a bag whose massive leather strap helps you hold it, and keeps your hands warm.

The double agent
Sure, it's a handbag, but loop your arm through the straps and hold it from underneath and BAM, it's a clutch.

This is a pretty practical trend, as you end up with the look of a clutch, but the ability to carry as much stuff as you would in a big bag.

The side-slide
For advanced users of the double agent, there's the side slide. Flip your bag vertical, slide your arm through the straps, and clutch it closely under your arm.

Or if you've got a small bag, try the two-handed version.

How will you hold yours?!
