Of all the cosmetic giants, NARS have a loyal and devoted following to rival a premiership football club. So we were more than excited, then, when it offered us this exclusive film from the new Spring NARSissist campaign featuring Natalie Joos, the oh-so-well put together fashion consultant and NY casting director, getting creative with her favourite make-up pieces. ‘For me it's my lipstick,’ says Joos of her NARS Jungle Red, ‘somehow a red lip always pulls my look together. It's the cherry on top.’

It’s one of three behind-the-scenes films, directed by Trevor Undi and shot in and around New York City, that offer a glimpse into the beauty routines of three very different, but equally beauty-focused, individuals. Style blogger Lily Kwong features in the second film, extolling the virtues of smoky eye and a contoured cheek while getting ready in what seems like a plush New York hotel room (although for all we know, perhaps this is her swish big apple apartment, lucky Lily).

The third film features DJ Kiss journeying through the hectic Manhattan streets, in an eponymous yellow taxi of course, en route to play a set. She’s shown creating her look with a brand new eyeshadow palette of steely greys and on-trend nudes (more of which below), before stepping into an adoring strobe-lit crowd. If only that happened every time we constructed our eye look, we’d be happy.

And what of the collection? The films showcase two new limited edition palettes – the NARSissist Eyeshadow Palette, £55 and NARSissist Cheek Palette , £35, both of which feature hero shades from the brand’s existing collection. For cheeks, the much-revered Orgasm and Devotte blushers and for eyes, All About Eve and Bad Behaviour. Both hit counters on the 1^st February, so there’s not long to wait, but until such time that hardcore devotees can lay their hands on them, they’ll have to make do with a few glimpses, albeit arty ones, in the brand’s latest creative endeavour.
