For a country that spends millions on skincare, we're pretty backwards in coming forwards when it comes to actually visiting a dermatologist, unlike in the US where it's considered standard to go through your teens with your own personal skin specialist on speed dial. But unless you're a WAG or an (extremely grateful, honest) beauty editor, it's unlikely you're getting much couch time with an A-list dermatologist, right? That's where Harrods come in.

From this Thursday, the eponymous London store is hosting Skinnovation, a month-long series of talks, masterclasses and one-on-one consultation sessions with some of the world's most respected dermatologists and skincare experts, all for an average price of around £40 (so that's about one-fifth of a usual consultation fee).
