Actress Josephine de la Baume boasts the kind of beauty that's in equal parts unbelievably glamorous and entirely laid-back and effortless. 'I wash my face with a Caudalie cleanser, but other than that, I don't really do much', she told us from a suite at The Savoy on Sunday as Lancôme artist Jade Bird created a her gorgeous look for the BAFTAs.

'I don’t really wear that much makeup', she continued. 'I don’t wear anything on my skin unless I’m going out'. That'll be the effortless part then, and as for the glamour, 'I love red lipsticks, so I’ll either wear lipstick, or nothing and just a liquid eyeliner', she said. 

When working with an artist for a red carpet event however, Josephine's all for mixing it up, and confesses that, 'I don’t really know how to do an eye', so uses the BAFTAs as an opportunity to experiment with a naturally contoured, feline look. 'I wanted to create an old Hollywood makeup with a smoky eye and a barely there nude lip', Jade told us. 

'We’re putting a mid-brown shade upwards from the corners of the eye, so the eyes go up and out. We’ll use a darker brown as an eyeliner' she advises. 'Look at the natural shape and colour of your eyes, and there aren’t any rules any more, so just experiment and see what works for you'.
