New face Lorena gets drenched in Ocean Waves

by

The model faces of tomorrow meet the beauty trends of today, here, every week.

It’s the peak of the summertime now, surely. We’re nearly in mid-July, Glastonbury has been and gone and there’s still plenty of Pimm’s and barbequing to be had. One hopes. So the sight of something that calls itself Summer Ocean Waves and comes in a luminous, sunset-colour bottled is right at the top of our agenda.

It’s a newbie from hair care brand Alterna, the salon favourite that makes styling absurdly easy thanks to a fuss-free selection of go-getters. It smells completely divine – like a delicious coconut concoction you’d imagine sipping on a Bahaman beach as the sun went down into a deep, blue ocean. No, really.

And there couldn’t have been more of a babe than Lorena to road test it for us… talk about landing on one’s feet. Hot from her home city of Mexico and a new signing to Next, she had the ideal hair for this. Not that typical, blonde hair that’s says, ‘oh hey, I am long and blonde and look best when drenched in salty sea water and flying in the wind on a beach in Brazil’ – because that would be cheating – but hair that’s short and thick and as far from being mermaid-like as you can imagine. Which was a good thing.

The results were, well… wonderful. If we do say so ourselves. Lorena was swiftly transformed into a wavy, slightly retro-looking beauty thanks to a heavy dose of the stuff through her ends. There was something a bit Rita Hayworth in Million Dollar Mermaid about her finished look, all perfectly formed curly waves that ran throughout her gently side-parted hair. She looked really quite stunning, and our imaginations ran wild with visions of her in a high-waisted white bikini, reclining on a peacock chair with a Shirley Temple in hand. Naturally.
