New face model Virginia does the wing walker eye
Oh, to be Cara Delevingne at the Anna Sui autumn/winter 2013 show. There she was, dressed in a geometric velvet green number, sporting quite possibly THE most wonderful eye flick I’ve ever seen. My jaw dropped at the mere sight as backstage legend Pat McGrath painted on the 60s, black as night vision. And no, it’s not a feline flick. This is A/W 13’s no holds barred, wing walker eye. Thickly applied, perfectly 60s and curled at the edges, you've never seen anything quite as cool.
When new face model, Virginia, strolled into the Never office in the coolest Isabel Marant-esque outfit we’ve ever seen (denim hot pants, cowboy style booties, the lot), we felt a bit befuddled. You see, the Marant girl doesn’t really do make-up, and a heavy wing walker eye couldn’t be further from that aesthetic. But what the heck, her flawless Hungarian complexion and thick brunette brows got the better of us.
If there was ever anyone who could create such a powerfully feminine and confident eye like this, it’s got to be Tom Ford. It just has to. Well, the Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen, rather than the man himself. Akin to Shakespeare’s calligraphy nib, it creates a precise line along the eye in a deep carbon shade. And once in place, it doesn’t budge at all. What. So. Ever. Luckily, Virginia liked it tremendously and wanted to keep it on, so off she went, wing walking on her way.
