The scents that make you feel like you are here. Now

Why is it that in England’s summer season, the hotter period when Spring’s chill has passed and the sun is shining (don’t laugh), we plan multiple weekends away and week-long holidays? No, in all seriousness, that’s totally what happens.

Once the biting cold of Winter has gone and the Chloe overcoat has been packed away, it seems to be like carte blanche for people across the country to book a leisurely trip abroad. Which doesn’t really make sense at all; surely we should be booking our holidays in the freezing, darker months when England doesn’t have much going for it? But anyway…

With Mad Dogs and Englishmen in mind, that’s just the way it goes. From jaunts down to St.Ives for clotted cream scones to more far-flung trips in Phuket or the clapper board houses of Martha’s Vineyard, the holiday season is fully upon us. Thanks goodness.

While said holidays bring with them the nostalgia of sun cream, sun-faded swim suits and a stash of untouched literature, they’re also the ideal time to find a new summer scent. As if you needed an excuse. Perfumes smell completely different in warmer climates; more sensual and seamless, if you will. So post-dip in the Aeonian sea when a large Gin Fizz is calling your name, could there be a better time to scent yourself with a suitably fragrant new juice? I don’t think so.

On that note, make sure one of these delicious 10 finds its way into your Globetrotter this summer.
