The rumours are true: Kering will sue Ghesquière
Rumours have been circulating all week that Kering, owner of Balengiaga, were planning to sue its former Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière for negative comments he made about the brand in System magazine, and it has transpired that the rumours are true.
While it might seem that Ghesquière would be able to speak as he wishes in the press, French law means that Kering can seek damages against the designer in instances where his freedom of expression is seen to besmirch or potentially harm their enterprise, according to WWD.
As such, a hearing is expected at the Tribunal de Grande Instance in September or October.
No comment has yet been made by Kering or Ghesquière.
