It all started with that Alexander Wang sweater on the runway back in September - now, slogans on clothes are back in a big way for spring. 

Forget any memories you have of mass-produced, unfunny phrases on cheap white t-shirts, the roots of this trend lie in 90s street culture rather than the noughties obsession with one-liners.

On the catwalk, DKNY chose to go for all-in logo mania with giant DKNY letters plastered over separates. Dior's offering was much more to do with the beauty of typography - with words and phrases floral skirts as though they'd been typed on an old Dymo label printer. And then that parental guidance sweater from Wang that will resonate with anyone who grew up in the 90s.
