Beyoncé and Jay Z kick off concert in Versace
Beyoncé and Jay Z kicked off their joint tour ‘On the Run’ in Miami last night, with a 42-song set, a wedding home video and some pretty amazing Atelier Versace and Diesel costumes for her. So, you know, they didn't disappoint.
They opened the concert with '03 Bonnie and Clyde', Beyoncé attired in a black sequinned and mesh custom-made Atelier Versace leotard, above, before performing 41 other solo hits and duets, swapping stage time throughout the show rather than doing anything pedestrian and boring like performing two separate sets.
Beyoncé later changed into another Atelier Versace leotard, this time featuring a variety of brightly coloured classic Versace prints, including the Medusa head, the Greek key and the leopard print. She accessorised with a black beanie that had been thouroughly Versace-ed with a hit of gold bling, and fishnet stockings. Her dancers were also wearing Atelier Versace costumes for that look.
She went on to change many, many times throughout the set, choosing a denim bodysuit with a zip, adorned with paraphernalia and memorabilia, which had been designed by Nicola Formichetti for Diesel.
And another bodysuit (there were lots of 'bodysuits') that took tassels and sequins to their Beyoncé extreme.
All the costumes drew attention to Beyoncé's tiny possibly-acquired-through-that-flirtation-with-veganism waist.
Nice work.
