Cheryl Cole has been looking impressively 'fashion' at The X Factor auditions, most recently appearing in Jil Sander and Temperley London. Diane Kruger was pretty in polka dots in LA this week and Olivia Munn was ladylike in Vionnet.

Stella McCartney hosted a party in Milan on Tuesday night, where guests were welcomed under pink floral display of the designer's name, and Aerosmith singer Stephen Tyler inexplicably turned up wearing a giant moustache and a dress. Other guests, including Anna Dello Russo and Vogue's Franca Sozzani, were more formally attired.

'Tis the season for a gala and the De Beers summer party took place in London at the Royal Opera House, with Lily Cole, Arizona Muse and Lianne laHavas in attendance.

In New York, Liv Tyler launched her new series with HBO, The Leftovers, apparently unpeturbed by her father's Italian look, while Elle Fanning and Angelina Jolie took a photocall in Japan.

Hollywood heavyweight Natalie Portman and newcomer Nicola Peltz were visions of glamour in China at the weekend at the 2014 Shanghai International Film Festival. Meanwhile, Elle Fanning and Angelina Jolie continued the promotional tour for Maleficent in Japan.

And in London, fashion and film types turned out for an 'In Conversation with Leslie Caron' event to benefit FilmAid International at The Electric Cinema in Notting Hill.
