Kate Moss to pick up British Fashion Award
Kate Moss will receive a Special Recognition award at the British Fashion Awards on Monday evening to acknowledge her contribution to the fashion industry during her career as a model.
The Croydon-born supermodel has been in the business for 25 years, appearing on the catwalk, on fashion magazine covers and in ad campaigns and she is showing no signs of slowing down as she approaches her 40th birthday in January: in 2013, she joined British Vogue as a contributing fashion editor, announced that she will be collaborating on a new line with Topshop, posed for Playboy and her latest images for Rimmel were made public today.
Kate has previously won the Model of the Year prize at the British Fashion Awards, and it is believed that she will attend the London ceremony on Monday night to collect her Special Recognition award.
She is one of the industry's most popular and enduring models and frequent collaborator Mario Testino said of the announcement: 'Kate Moss has made many people dream. And not only people that look at fashion but those that create it as well. The moment she puts on an outfit, it takes another identity. She adds personality to fashion and I personally, can never get enough of her.'
Yesterday it was announced that veteran fashion journalist Suzy Menkes will also receive a Special Recognition award.
