Make-up becomes a Blue Peter project

by

Are you sitting comfortably? Good, then I’ll begin. Because after days of no make-up make-up, Milan fashion week finally kicked off its heels and partied with a look that felt more like a Blue Peter project than a catwalk show.

Foxes winking wryly from within the folds of a blouse. Fluffy kittens purred sweetly on jackets. And grumpy pugs frowned out from giant badges. This was the scene at Au Jour Le Jour this morning. A show where the designers imagined a travelling pet lover who, having failed to obtain a passport for her beloved menagerie, took them along with her via the print on her outfits instead.

To complete her look, she (and thus you) will need the following: A handful of art class glitters, some skin-friendly make-up glue, a small eyeliner brush and shed loads of mascara. You can leave the loo rolls at home for this particular Blue Peter-esque look.

Step 1: Make-up artist, Helena Komarova found her neon pink, green, orange and blue glitters in Japan. Some fine art school glitter will do you fine.

Step 2: Use said small eyeliner brush to paint Ben Nye Glitter Glue along the lash line. Then pat the playschool glitter over the top.

Step 3: Apply three coats of black mascara top and bottom, for a wide-eyed Twiggy-esque look.

Step 4: Locate your best animal print jumper and step out to party.
