Leigh's a brunette again and the world makes sense...
So Leigh Lezark has gone back to black and it could just be my imagination, but doesn’t she look a little relieved to be back in her comfort zone? I never really found ‘blonde Leigh’ convincing – she still looked beautiful, of course, you can’t argue with that bone structure or those eyes – but she didn’t really convince as a blonde. And I think she knew it too, and that’s why she’s returned to the super-shiny raven-black curtains of sleek hair that were her signature look before her dalliance with the bleach.
Leigh's just meant to be a brunette - it goes with her skintone, her style and her attitude, just like Patti Smith (can you imagine her blonde? Nope, me neither) or Rooney Mara, or Sophia Loren.
This got me thinking about whether there’s anything wrong with sticking with what you know. Last year I grew out the fringe I’d had for a decade. It took months and felt vaguely wrong the whole time. When I had it cut back in at the beginning of this year, it was such a relief. I tried to push my boundaries, realised I didn’t like it very much after all, and scuttled back to safety.
Sometimes it's fun to play around with different hair and make-up, to experiment with new trends and styles, but sometimes it feels really good to stick with what you know...
