I’m not wearing tights today and it’s fine. Really quite pleasant. I Tweeted as much first thing this morning and got a variety of responses from ‘brave’ to ‘useful’, then more, detailed chat about the pros and cons when I got to the office.
Shedding that protective layer is a seasonal milestone, it’s just shaving your legs and a slick of fake tan of course but mentally you jump the hurdle from winter to summer and start looking at your clothes in a new light. At long last.
It’s a much happier transition if you keep it wintry up top. I’ve put this flippy Mulberry skirt with a Whistles Argyll knit and a blazer from The Kooples. I even showed a bit of toe with these Christian Louboutin Mary-Janes. No regrets. I didn't even feel a chill as I walked to the tube at 7.15am. British summertime is my oyster, or something.
