Hollywood, the land of sun-drenched movie studios, has a long-standing love affair with the swimming pool. There's something so cinematic and Hockney-esque about those depths of turquoise it's no wonder they end up on celluloid more times than we can count.

But it's not just the pool, or the wide open ocean for that matter, that makes a movie. You need a star in sophisticated sunbathing mode to really pique our interest.
