Louis Vuitton loves graffiti
Ever since the luxury house's collaboration with Stephen Sprouse in 2001, Louis Vuitton has had a soft spot for the work of street artists. Last year, it teamed up British Ben Eine, and this year it has collaborated with three more high-profile graffiti stars on a range of silk scarves.
André Saraiva, often known simply as André, is the man behind the Le Baron nightclubs and the Mr. A motif that you'll spot on many a building in Paris, the city the Swedish-Portuguese artist calls his home. And now you can pick up a silk Louis Vuitton shawl with his distinctive Mr. A signature.
Meanwhile, American Kenny Scharf, who first came to prominence in the inter-disciplinary art scene of 1980s New York, has created a silk square replete with astronomic motifs, almost psychedelic in effect.
Chilean graffiti artist INTI, who has left his mark on buildings across the world, is consistently inspired by Andean culture and this is reflected in his design for Louis Vuitton, a brightly coloured design that pays tribute to Viracocha, god of Tiwanaku culture, one of the most important figures in Inca mythology.
The scarves cost £465 while the shawl is £545 and all are available at Louis Vuitton stores from today.
