The Bafta red carpet style is going to be fierce

by

The Bafta nominations were announced this morning and the best actress and best supporting actress categories are crammed full of leading ladies we completely adore.

Sandra Bullock (Gravity), Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine), Judi Dench (Philomena), Amy Adams (American Hustle) and Emma Thompson (Saving Mr Banks) make up the best actress list while Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine), Jennifer Lawrence (American Hustle), Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years a Slave), Julia Roberts (August: Osage County) and Oprah Winfrey (The Butler) – yes, OPRAH WINFREY – are all in the running for best supporting actress.

Nyong'o, who has ascended to the top of the A list with meteoric pace, is also nominated for the Rising Star award, alongside French star Lea Seydoux (Blue is the Warmest Colour). This is going to be one seriously well-dressed red carpet. Will we see Blanchett in Balenciaga? Lawrence in Dior? And Seydoux will surely go for Prada, won't she?

See the Bafta website for a full list of nominations.
