Hair stylist Mara Roszak has been travelling the world with Lily Collins as she walks down red carpet after red carpet to promote her new film, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. She broke down the look she created for Lily for the Mexico premiere into easy-to-follow steps and gave us a glimpse into life on the road with a cute picture from her Instagram feed of her, make-up artist Kayleen McAdams and Lily in the car on the way to the red carpet. 

“Lily wore a gorgeous cut out dress that showed off her beautiful shape. It was a classic yet incredibly sexy look that inspired the 40's brushed waves. I applied mousse to Lily’s damp hair and rough dried.  I then curled sections of her hair around a 3/4" barrel iron towards the face and pin curled.”

“The key is to create the perfect ‘S’ wave in front of the face by manipulating it with a comb and pinning in place.  Once the head was set I sprayed all over with L’Oreal extra strong hold Elnett hairspray. After allowing the hair to sit and cool down, I removed all the pins and brushed out the hair with a wide tooth comb, breaking up the waves and creating a softer look.”

Oh, and that fuchsia lip is incredible too. Bravo Ms Collins.
