Glowy skin rewrites the red carpet rules at the Grammys

by

The Grammys. Historically, the one event during red-carpet season in which you can rely on its guests to get er... creative with their make-up. There'll be a slew of clownish red lips, overdrawn brows for days, thatched false lashes in their tonnes and smoky eyes that have more in common with bruises than old Hollywood red-carpet make-up. It was a riot to watch.

And yet, this year - presumably taking it's cue from the spring/summer14 catwalks (hello Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana and Chloe) - stars turned out in force with an uncharacteristically restrained take on make-up, subtly glossed rosebud pink lips, sophisticated grey lids and only maybe 4 coats of mascara. But that skin! For what seems like the first time in the history of the world ever, skin has taken centre stage this red carpet season and none more so than at last night's Grammys. Rita Ora, Beyonce, Paula Patton, Taylor Swift - were all in unison with their interminably glowy, slightly (and that's key) gilded, radiant skin. It looked beyond human.

It's the perfect antidote to all those flashbulbs; the more light that is placed on the face, the better it looks.
