Anyone who has charted the rise and rise of the brow will know that they've been huge for a while now. You've heard the Brooke Shields references. You know that Cara Delevingne's have their own life insurance. Probably.

Yet big is not big enough next season. For Autumn/Winter 2014 will usher in the age of the super brow. Conceptual. Crazy. Graphic to the max. This is like that moment, seasons ago, when suddenly nails were no longer the also-rans of backstage beauty - they were the out and out winners with 3D designs that crackled, sparkled and smiley-faced right back at you. And now its brows' time to be the leader of the pack.

And spurring this on is Yadim. The man who swept gold over the brow tops at Pucci last week, and this morning gave us the Diana Vreeland version - seen through the eyes of Haider Ackermann.

'Haider wanted the 'blueprint' of the crazy, severe Diana brow - but in a raw, fresh way,' said Yadim. He'd filched some of the hairbands from hair stylist, Eugene Souleiman's kit bag, cut them into skinny strips then stuck on in a straight line with a flick of a curve at the tail using lash glue.

And goodness they were stretched on tight. Taut as an elastic band just waiting to snap,  they pinched the skin at the temple, with the happy result of elevating the eyes - like an instant face lift. So is the super brow a sign of things to come?

'I think beauty is going to this place now,' said Yadim. 'Brows have been underestimated for a long time, now we're finally realising how expressive they are - and taking this as far as it will go. Women are styling their brows as they would change a lipstick. Bleaching them out, brushing them back, running a hint of golden gloss through them or manipulating the shape into more avant-garde shapes to express both their emotions and individual style'.

It bags, it shoes, statement jackets and trophy trousers. Are brows the new 'it'? Next season is the time to start building your outfit around your brow. Go on, I dare you.
