MAC immortalise Lorde's purple lip for the masses

by

Her darkest plum lip shade is as ubiquitous as her million-selling single, Royals, so perhaps it's not a complete surprise that Lorde is the latest female musician to collaborate on make-up for MAC. The question is, will you want to wear it?

MAC Lorde, a two-piece limited edition collection, will launch in June and be exclusive to MAC stores and www.maccosmetics.co.uk. It will consist of that lipstick - a intense deep purple that MAC have named Pure Heroin, £15 (after her debut album, see), as well as a precision fibre tip liner in 'Rapidblack' allowing you to pull off Lorde's look in a level of meticulous detail that loyal fans will rejoice in.

It's no secret that dark, brooding, gothic lip shades aren't the easiest to pull off, so it will be interesting to see if branding an artist's signature shade (it's all she wears) will make it more accessible for the masses. In other Lorde news, the singer's has today been tweeting about her disappointment at having to cancel multiple dates in Australia due to illness and exhaustion. But at least if crestfallen fans don't get to see the rouge-noir-mouthed 17 year-old in the flesh this summer, they will at least be able to pay their own homage via the medium of lipstick (oh, a bit of liner too).
