Deodorant goes luxury and you need to get a whiff

by

Let’s face it: deodorant isn’t always the most glamorous thing in the daily beauty line-up. When you’ve got gleaming YSL mascaras and black lacquered palettes of pretty powders, a standard bottle of white roll-on can seem more than a little bit mundane.

And that’s exactly it – because they’re such a necessity rather than a pleasure, like brushing one’s teeth or using soap, they’ve never been given the pizazz that the rest of the beauty world has enjoyed.

The good news is that things are chic-ing up on the deo front. Big time. Just as Laura Mercier turned the boring daily body wash into a total delight with the delicious Almond Coconut Body Wash, £29, and Philips has revolutionised tooth brushing with our good friend Sonicare, £32.95, so deodorants are fast becoming the sophisticated little sister of the beauty world.

And about time too, because if there’s something as boring as scenting your armpits each morning, might as well feel good doing it.

So all hail the arrival of the chic deodorant. With this freesia scented and lavender rich lot, there’s no excuse not to waft about smelling like a rose garden.
