Today is the longest day of the year, believe it or not. The summer solstice. The day with the most hours of daylight in. Which means that firstly, there’s a rather giddy and excitable feeling in the air (that Friday feeling kind of helps too) and secondly, there’s even more time to enjoy the day. Not like, more hours than yesterday or tomorrow, per se, because it’s still a normal 24 hours stretch. But more daylight hours to contend with. High-fives all round. 

And with this delight comes the slightly panicked feeling that your face needs to stay looking flawless and fresh for even longer. Gulp. On a normal day, a long-lasting foundation just about makes it to the moment you slam the front door after a laborious day at the office, where upon it cracks and crumbles and slides right off.
