May we present our (completely normal) obsession with freckles
Freckles. What is it about them that is just so wonderful? They’re organic and earthly. They feel quite naïve with that young and childish look about them. Whenever I look at pictures of Gisele in last year's H&M campaign, my freckle-envy rears its head once again. I thought I was over, but apparently not. You see, my skin has none. And I’ve always longed for a smattering of dots across my nose and cheeks, but God didn’t bless me with such a thing.
There are several other be-freckled beauty icons whose dappled skin I'm currently coveting. New face model and Topshop girl Adwoa Aboah, is covered in them, complementing that beautifully creamy skin tone. Lucan Gillespie off-set hers with a heavy layer of pink blusher and a high ponytail when she fronted a JW Anderson campaign. And Angela Lindvall teased us with a slight hint of hers when she was the subject of Paule Ka's camapign, dusted with a very light powder on top to make the subtle. Divine.
There’s many, many more. See my full homage to the humble freckle in the gallery above (and in the meantime, fake your own with a brown liner – it works a treat).
