What did the Duchess of Cambridge wear today?

Long before she became Duchess Catherine, Kate Middleton showed the British public what she knew about style. Her tweed jackets, classic necklines and preppy dresses illustrate a degree of Sloaney sartorial maturity, while the see-through dress she wore in a university fashion show at St Andrews in 2002 show she’s not afraid to have fun (see also the yellow hot pants and green sequin top from 2007’s roller disco night out).

But since she walked up the aisle to marry Prince William in 2011, her style cachet has only increased, as she artfully balances that tricky ground between being a royal under scrutiny, in her early thirties and a young mother. Favourite designers include Issa, Mulberry and Alexander McQueen, but she also remains loyal to high street brands like Topshop, Zara and Reiss, often dragging out a shirt she’s had for ages. Admirable given her budget. Click ahead to see Kate’s best fashion moments.
