The best beauty and hair salon scenes in film
Beauty salons can be fascinating places - not least on the big screen.
They can be wonderfully kitsch (as in Edward Scissorhands) part of a fantasy sequence (Grease) or the makeshift kind in the back of a trailer (Drop Dead Gorgeous). And sometimes the people working in them - and their patrons - don't have to be major characters themselves, but manage to steal every scene they're in (Coming to America).
And there are the fabulously opulent pampering scenes from black and white films of yesteryear, featuring a prima donna is surrounded by hairstylists, manicurists, dressmakers - you name it. can even be pivotal to the plot, the scene for an epic make-over or dastardly murder (in Sweeney Todd's case).
