The world tuned in to see J.Lo kick off the World Cup with a performance with rapper Pitbull last night. Meanwhile in LA, Rachael Taylor and Jamie King were at the premiere of The Rover, Robert Pattinson's latest vehicle, and Lady Gaga was out and about in New York.

Maybe we'll just never shake the Lord of the Rings vibes, but Cate Blanchett really is the most ethereal actress around, and she lived up to our angelic expectations as she wafted through the Women in Film Crystal and Lucy Awards in LA on Wednesday. 

The amfAR Inspiration Gala took place in New York last night with New York celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker and OITNB's Laverne Cox turning out to celebrate men’s fashion while raising money for amfAR’s AIDS research programmes, while others - Jessica Alba and Susan sarandon - were turning out to support the Hope for Children gala elsewhere in the city.   

You don't turn down an invite from two of the most important businesswomen in fashion right now: Net a Porter's Natalie Massanet (and chairman of the British Fashion Council) and Victoria Beckham hosted a party in New York's Bowery Hotel on Monday in celebration of her label being stocked on the luxury e-tailer. Models, editors and designers alike turned out for it, and Lucky's Eva Chen showed us how to wear this season's culottes.

The city put on a show on Sunday night too, with the annual Tony Awards, the biggest event Broadway's theatrical calendar, taking place. Adam Brody and Leighton Meester were in attendance, looking like the best teen drama couple come true, while Maggie Gyllenhaal and Kate Mara looked spectacular in brilliantly textural Dolce & Gabbana looks. Anna Gunn and Emmy Rossum meanwhile, shone just as brightly in super-shiny metallic dresses. 

Over in London, stars were taking full advantage of the Sunday sun, Portia Freeman and Daisy Lowe whooping up crowds on Sloane Street as the Cash and Rocket charity event arrived at its UK destination, while Florence Welch went out for a spot of thrifting at Vauxhall Art Car Boot Sale on Brick Lane.
