Beauty writer Angelica tries the trickiest new season eye trends
Now that you can’t move for love nor money without seeing the new season just about EVERYWHERE (here’s looking at you cashmere Joseph sweater and Saint Laurent biker boots), I’ve decided to embrace all things autumn/winter 2013. My Net-a-Porter wish list is growing at a rate of knots and I’ve been eyeing up Jérôme Dreyfuss’s Alain bucket bag on a daily basis.
With the new season comes the excitement of new and never-before-seen beauty trends. And there's tonnes that are making me giddy. Different ways to wear your blusher (much higher this season), the beautiful faded lip from Antonio Marras and more eye looks than we counted catwalk models. And this makes me very happy, because eyes have always been my thing. I’ll choose a shadow or liner over a bright pop of lipstick any day. Where beauty director, Joanna McGarry, has drawers stashed with every lipstick colour under the sun, I have an ample and ever-growing collection of shadows and palettes.
Now, a word of warning: it would be all too easy to road test something classic, like a cat-eye flick or bronze smoky eye, so I’ve gone bold. I’ve picked some of the trickiest eye trends of the season and swathed my eyes in them. We’re talking bright lilac lids and floating liner among others, which on Cara Delevingne and co. look pretty good. But what about when you bring the catwalk trends into everyday life?
