Oh the 90s. This was our time to shine. The halcyon days of sixth form, The Big Breakfast and Smash Hits Poll Winner Parties. 

The latter was the entire highlight our our year, save only for the BRITs. The women (and the odd man, namely Robert Smith) of 90s pop were our beauty educators. They taught us all there was to know about honing a two-tone coffee lip (thanks Toni) and what to do with our oft' untamable hair - see Mariah, Britney and Brandy.

There were also the mavericks, Bjork, Sinead and Gwen who taught us the importance of a well-placed bindi and who could forget the girls with guitars? It is to Courtney, Justine and Shirley - don't forget, they defined 90s pop just as much as their bubblegum counterparts - that we owe our deft with a black kohl liner and smudgy red lip to.
