Their face is their fortune. The gateway to riches beyond riches and the thing that, genetically, sets them light years apart from us, the non-models. And yet, scratch the surface, step a little further behind that wall of heart-stopping beauty and you might just find that the faces in question are not so unique after all.

In fact, they're strikingly familiar. For months I was plagued with the creeping notion that Daria Strokous, the current face (and body) of Dior and queen of the Paris catwalks looked like someone I knew. Or perhaps, I had dreamt about her, I reasoned. It was neither. After stumbling over a picture of Kill Bill era Uma Thurman, it hit me square in the face, Daria is baby-Uma. 

It's not just her though. The archetypes of beauty that populate the catwalks right now all find shades of their own faces in the beauties that have gone before them. That's the cyclical nature of beauty and genetics. And working out who these models look like is properly fun.
