Shiny Happy People in the Hamptons
It was a night like any other night. That is, if you spend most nights enjoying a summer dinner under a white marquee in the Hamptons, in the company of the Hollywood elite. The dinner, in honour of Baby Buggy (er..?) was attended by the likes of Cameron Diaz, Naomi Watts and Hilary Rhoda, all gathered to dine on a balmy Saturday evening, entertained by intermittent microphone antics by Alec Baldwin, apparently.
Balmy, though, being the operative word as the aforementioned guests were all united in their er, extreme balminess. Their skin shone. It shined, it reflected the moonlight, it laughed in the face of a subtly glowy complexion, such was its verve for unashamed dewiness. How thoughtful that they all seemed to agree on a chosen complexion to perfect for the night.
And doesn't it look good? As someone who cannot break herself away from the daily battle against a shiny T zone, and who cannot quite nail the glowy thing without slipping too far into the abyss (the abyss of a wildlife-threatening oil spillage on my face).
Still, looking at Hilary's wholesome forehead shine and Naomi's mirrored cheeks, I'm starting to rethink the whole thing. Just look at how much fun they're having, not caring about how to breezily snaffle a pot of transluscent powder and a big, fluffy brush into the loos for a touch up. Just having a jolly good, Hamptons-y time, instead.
