What happened to models smiling at work on the catwalk? The recent Moschino show at Milan fashion week which celebrated the label's 30th birthday stood out for its skipping, smiling, cheeky models that referenced the fashion scene in the 80s and 90s. And boy did it make us miss that party atmosphere. 

Look at just about every fashion show in recent years and not a single model is smiling as they sashay. Those moodboards backstage are yelling 'fierce', 'rich' or 'spurned upper east-side lover looking for revenge'. There's nary a 'you're a really happy person who's just loving this outfit' in sight.

Go back a few years and decades and supermodels grinned like Cheshire cats while they walked. Everyone from Yasmin Le Bon to Kate Moss was at it. It almost seems eerie to see such jubilant shows of emotion on the runway now. But show them we will in our gallery of our favourite smilers on the catwalk.
