Bicester's British Designers Collective is back
When your mind drifts to the red hot, of the moment design talent of the London Fashion Week catwalk, it probably doesn't add shopping outlet Bicester Village into the equation.
But the discount designer destination this morning launched its annual British Designers Collective store, open from today for 12 weeks and stocking some of the capital's most acclaimed names.
JW Anderson is involved, as are Mary Katrantzou and Preen, with pieces available at up to 40 per cent off the original. As an example, that's a butter-soft JWA white leather jacket for £345 rather than £575, or an Emilia Wicksteed jacquard minidress for £650, not £2750.
And this year, for the first time, the Royal Academy of Art is involved, selling a selection of limited edition prints from the likes of Gary Hume and Grayson Perry in the same venue.
You probably didn't need another reason to visit Bicester, stuffed as it is with knockdown stock from some of the industry's biggest names, but this morning's launch (at which popular Ellie Goulding cut the ribbon) is proof that even the most hardened of fashion experts can't resist a bargain.
